The Wire, Season 6 (I wish)

The best TV show of all time is The Wire.  Sure, other shows are good, and maybe even are more liked by people, but nothing can beat the Wire for drama, writing, and reality.  I really wish they had kept making it.  I think there's plenty of other aspects of Baltimore to explore.  For example there's my industry: video games.  Yeah I know, you are wondering right now what video games has to do with corruption.  Well not a lot.  I mean there are things that any business faces like embezzlement, but what is really cool is that a video game office makes for a very fun place.

Just think about it.  Maybe McNulty takes up a job as a security guard at an office building, which just happens to rent to a video game company.  Late at night McNulty tries to swipe some free sodas from the office but gets caught.  Hi-jinks ensue.  One of the street kids could get a job as a tester, actually on his way out of the ghetto.  It could also explore drug problems of the middle class.

Anyway, just think about it.  The Wire rules, video games are awesome, and together they would be amazing.

The Greatest of All-Time

So yesterday I attended the Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Rickey Henderson, my favorite player ever, got in! It was exciting to see Rickey and hear his speech. It was really well done and very interesting. One day I hope I can be as successful as Rickey, with just as much flair and individuality. He did it his way, and was better than just about anybody.

On a related note, I really want to make a video game about Rickey Henderson. I figure it would be like Grand Theft Auto, but it would be about trying to grow up on the streets and beat the odds. You'd have to wake up early to play some baseball, use your blazing speed to outrun the bullys, and have some super hillarious conversations. Plus just the chance to have MC Hammer make a cameo would be awesome.

Planet of the Apes

Am I the only one who finds comfort in the apes society in Planet of the Apes? Not only does everyone know who they are, but they know where they stand. The gorillas want to conquer, the chimpanzees want to explore, and the orangutans want to manage. Are the orangutans even necessary? The gorillas and the chimpanzees should collaborate to kick them out. Then they can each mind their respective businesses.

It's too bad the remake wasn't that great. It was too much about flash. Planet of the Apes is really just like Star Trek: commentary on our society. J.J. Abrahams should remake Planet of the Apes. Even better, he should do a crossover. It would be pretty awesome to see Spock and a chimpanzee hanging out.
